What’s it all about?
Everything else we talk about here aside, what is this all about? It’s about games. And gaming. And creating things. And about experiencing things that honestly distract us from the world outside. And isn’t that what we kind of need right now? Not something that removes us from reality and gives us something to retreat entirely into. Something that allows us to break from the mundane and stressful situations we have no control over while experiencing the excitement and wonder with people we enjoy spending time with.
And honestly, we don’t want to get bogged down entirely in the issues, stressors, and even solutions for the gaming community when related to mental health issues. We want to enjoy the hobby no matter what and so here we are. Pure game content. Game design, Character creation and development, workshops, and assistance on managing things, not from a people perspective but a game perspective. Determining the logistics and planning of running a game. Even reviews of all types of tabletop games so you can figure out which ones will work for you.
That being said though, most of this stuff is being created by people who have mental health issues or deal closely with people who do, so this section is an example of their creative output. It is part of the understanding that would help people in the gaming community support each other.
So enjoy the content provided and hopefully, you can… Wait! Squirrel!!
What are we playing?
What the heck are we talking about?
Games. We are currently focusing on tabletop ones, such as board games, role-playing games, war games, card games, and the like. Eventually, we hope to encompass the whole realm of games from Computers to LARPing to even those things you get in the box month that you have to try and figure out. Oh, maybe even an Augmented Reality Game would be excellent. What? You don’t know what most of these things are? Okay then start here!
Designing a Game
Or more likely a game supplement or something, because let’s be honest. 1.) There are already so many game systems out there; why flood the “market” with another one? And 2.) Seriously? I’ve got ADHD! We’d never have an end product if we tried to do something huge!
Futureproofing your potential game sessions
One of the best parts about roleplaying games is that you get to play a unique individual in any type of world you want (well more like any type of world your Game Master is willing to run). With so many rules systems out there and so many settings created over all these years. Sometimes all you have time to do is make up a character in hopes that someone will run the game sometime in the future.
Welcome to making what I call the Character Vault (yeah, I know; I’ll come up with something better later).
Let’s Plan a Game
ADHD + Game Session + Procrastination + real-life stress = uhmm? Okay, I think maybe I should get a handle on this. And maybe some people can help.
